Emergency Appeal
We are sure you have read with distress about the flood on the Nepal Tibet border yesterday morning.
We are very relieved to report all PHASE staff are safe. It is not in a PHASE Nepal project area, but we are extremely saddened by the loss of life and the current risks that remain for those living in the affected area.
We know from landslides and floods in our own project areas in previous years the devastating impact this will have on people, their homes and their livelihoods.
However, PHASE is lined up to be involved in the emergency response. We do not have the expertise or equipment for the search and rescue phase. However, PHASE is to be involved in the next step; the medical care, the rehabilitation and the reconstruction. Our expertise and experience will be of huge value and we are on standby to offer our support as it is needed.
At this early stage, we don’t know exactly the details, but it is clear the need is great and the more funds we have, the more lives we can save and the more survivors we can support.
If you feel able to donate please do so via our website – all donations from today will be restricted to the Flood Appeal.
We will keep you updated as our involvement becomes clearer, we expect this to be in a few weeks time once search and rescue has completed.
