PHASE Worldwide is pleased to announce that Tom Edwards has joined the PHASE Worldwide team following Sarah Galvin’s departure.
Tom’s background is in the UK charity sector with particular experience in fundraising, communications, governance, and charity management. He studied International Development and Geography at University before going to Tamil Nadu, India, to work on a mother and child nutrition project. For the last three years Tom has been working for a UK based charity which supports rural development projects in India.
He is already familiar with PHASE Worldwide as (for one day a week over the past two years) he has worked with PHASE on managing grant and trust fundraising. Tom is also on the Board of Trustees for the South West International Development Network, a charity which aims to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of organisations working towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the South West of England.
Nick Cragg, Chair of Trustees, said “It’s always sad to say ‘goodbye’ to friends and colleagues, particularly ones like Sarah Galvin, who have added considerable value to PHASE Worldwide. However, we are very happy to welcome Tom Edwards as her successor. Tom fully subscribes to the essence of our organisation – empowerment. We at PHASE Worldwide strive to empower everyone associated with us whether they be employees, supporters, volunteers, patrons, trustees, partners or those living in remote Nepalese villages.”
Tom said “I’m looking forward to leading PHASE Worldwide in empowering more people to access knowledge, skills, and services whilst strengthening government provision. The PHASE family is made up of great partners, staff, trustees, and supporters and I look forward to meeting you all at the events PHASE are hosting in 2018.”
